"V&A Pattern: Kimonos" displays some of the best Japanese textile patterns at the V&A, ranging over 200 years from the early nineteenth century. "Novelty Patterns" showcases the innovative and fanciful decoration employed for lightweight fabrics made between the early 1920s and the late 1940s. "Secret Garden" shows - mainly British - plant-form patterns from 1880 to 1910, and "Owen Jones" features the breadth of the Victorian designer's work, from his passion for Islamic decoration to his influential work, "The Grammar of Ornament", first published in 1856.
